Friday Feature: Super Secret Study Spots

Carina Tea and Waffles

3701 Chestnut St.

Two Penn alums opened Carina near Penn’s campus in 2013, and it has been the go-to destination for quality bubble tea ever since. The aroma of freshly baked waffles and spiced teas is intoxicating and extremely hard to resist once you step foot in the door. On Wednesdays from 4-8 p.m., Carina even offers Happy Hour specials on organic bubble teas and waffles, which is even more of an incentive to visit!

In addition to being a great destination for unique snacks and beverages, Carina is also a cozy study spot. Small tables line the back wall of the café, and they are perfect for working solo or with a study buddy. The environment in Carina allows for conversation if you are preparing for a presentation or working on a project, but it isn’t too noisy to be productive if you are studying for an exam or writing a paper. If the tables within Carina are crowded, you can also enjoy the couches in the adjacent International House lounge.
