Learning Resources

Learning Resources offers opportunities for undergraduate, graduate, and professional students to build and strengthen their study skills and strategies as they engage with Penn coursework and a variety of academic projects. Learning specialists support students through individual consultations and group workshops that often address time/project management, organization, academic reading, research and writing, problem-solving, and exam preparation.

Given the impact of COVID-19 on the Penn community (see COVID-19 Information and Resources), Learning Resources is offering virtual access to the academic support resources described below. Our staff members are available by phone at 215-573-9235 and email to answer questions and assist Penn students in connecting with our services.

Virtual Individual Consultations

Students can schedule 50-minute virtual meetings to discuss their study strategies and approaches to a variety of academic assignments and assessments. Please click on MyWLRC at the top of the menu on the right to access our online scheduling system and schedule a Learning Resources Appointment. After students schedule an appointment, they will receive a virtual meeting link from the learning specialist. Students can also call 215-573-9235 for additional assistance.

Students are limited to scheduling one Learning Resources appointment per week. If an additional appointment is needed in that week, we ask that students speak with their learning specialist.

Appointments are generally available Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. EST, but additional times may be available in MyWLRC depending on instructor availability.

Virtual Learning Strategies Workshops

To support students as they adapt to online learning, Learning Resources offers virtual learning strategies workshops on a variety of topics. Our signature workshop series for Spring 2021 included Fresh Start for undergraduates, Academics Plus, which addresses language, culture, and resources for international students and students from linguistically diverse backgrounds, and Strategies for Success in Graduate Studies designed for graduate and professional students as they adapt to online learning (Penn students can access recordings of those sessions on the Graduate Student Center’s website).
