Accommodations for Fall Courses

To renew approved accommodations for fall courses:

  • Navigate to the MyWLRC Student Portal and log in.
  • Select Accommodation > Semester Request from the left menu. Choose Add New.
  • Select the semester from the drop-down list.
  • Select Review the Renewal to make a class-by-class choice about which accommodations to request.
  • Select the approved accommodations you need for each course. Click Submit to finish.
  • Your specialist will confirm your request before accommodations letters are sent to your professors.

Appointments 

SDS staff members are available for remote appointments by phone or web conferencing. To schedule an appointment with an SDS staff member:

  • Navigate to the MyWLRC Student Portal and log in.
  • Select Appointment from the left menu, then Request New Appointment.
  • Under Type, choose Student Disabilities Services and the appropriate subtype:
    • SDS Initial Appointment if this is your first appointment with SDS.
    • Assistive Technology Appointment for appointments about assistive technology or alternate format materials.
    • Follow Up Appointment for all other appointments.
  • You edit the can date and time range to fit your schedule.
  • For Location, choose Weingarten Learning Resources Center. (You will have the opportunity later to request a phone or web conference format for the appointment.)
  • You can search for the name of your SDS specialist. Check your email for the name of your specialist. Or, the system will generate the name of your specialist when you select Check Availability.
  • You can select the days of the week you are available.
  • Click Check Availability. Next, select an appointment time from the right-hand side of the page.
  • A new Confirm Appointment window opens. Follow the on-screen prompts as you wish to finalize the appointment and click Submit Request.
  • You and your specialist will receive email confirmation of your appointment.
  • You can view your approved appointment in Accommodate by going to Appointments > Approved Appointments.
  • If you would like to add the appointment to your calendar, click on the three vertical dots under appointment time and select Add to Calendar.

How to Reschedule or Cancel an Appointment

  • You may cancel/reschedule an appointment up to one hour in advance of the scheduled time.
  • To cancel an appointment less than one hour in advance, please call the WLRC at 215-573-9235.
  • Navigate to the MyWLRC Student Portal and log in.
  • Go to Appointments > Approved Appointments.
  • Click on the three vertical dots under the appointment time.
  • To reschedule, click Reschedule.
    • Select your options: date range, time ranges, and days of the week.
    • Click Check Availability. Select a new appointment time from the right-hand side of the page.
    • A new Confirm Appointment window opens. Follow the on-screen prompts as you wish to finalize the appointment and click Submit Request. You and your specialist will receive an email with your new appointment time.
  • To cancel, click Cancel.
    • A new window opens. Please choose a reason for your cancellation.
    • Select Cancel Appointment. Your assigned specialist will receive an email notification of your cancellation.
    • To schedule a future appointment, follow the steps above.

Exam Accommodations

  • Students: Continue to use MyWLRC to request your exam accommodations at least 7 days prior to the exam date. Also, communicate directly with your faculty member about your accommodations. SDS will work with your professors to provide guidance in implementing the accommodations.
  • How to Submit an Accommodated Exam Request in the NEW MyWLRC
    • Navigate to the MyWLRC Student Portal and log in.
    • Select Schedule Accommodated Exam from the toolbar on the right side of the screen.
    • Click the New Booking Request button on the bottom left side of the screen.
    • Click the Drop-down arrow to view a list of your courses and select the course that you would like to request exam accommodations for.
    • Once you choose your course, other category filters will appear. Select the date, time, and length of your exam, and select the specific approved accommodations you will need to use for this exam.
    • Next click the Check Availability button. You will see available exam appointments that meet your criteria on the right side of the screen. Select the exam appointment you would like to book.
    • Once you choose which exam appointment you would like, a Confirm Exam Booking pop-up box will appear on the screen. The Testing Room, Course, Testing Date, Testing Time, Length, and End Time will automatically populate.
    • The pop-up box will prompt you to answer two final questions: Do you need to request an alternative testing time? and Is this an online exam? After answering these questions, click the Submit Request button, and the SDS staff will receive your request.
    • Your request will now show under the Pending Booking Requests section. Once your request has been approved by an SDS staff member, it will appear in the Approved Booking Requests section.
